The file samplesubmission contains an example of a UTF-8 file which is in the correct format. You can use any APL system to participate in the contest, so long as you submit a file in this format, and the code runs in Dyalog APL when loaded.
The file contest2010sample.dyalog defines a web page which can be displayed using the MildServer which can be used to visualize the results of your work on the 2010 Programming Contest.
