⊣⌸⍵ does get the unique major cells of ⍵. It is the best until we get our act together and extend ∪⍵ to do that, in the same way that ⍺⍳⍵ was extended.
∪⍵ ←→ ⍵⌿⍨(⍳≢⍵)=⍵⍳⍵
BTW, as described in Glasgow, the result of the new interval index ⍸ are bee's knees as left argument to key.
