Dyalog for iPad
Hi,
Since you have already implemented a version for OSX, it could be possible to port it to the iPad? Looks like mobile devices like iPad or (android)Galaxy Tabs could help to increase the popularity of the language, since on these devices one have to type with the virtual keyboard anyway. The concise language like APL + virtual keyboard embedded in the app could certainly help to those who would like to program/solve problems on their mobile devices. The build-in tutorial (basically copy of those at tryapl.org) could definitely help starting with the language.
Looking forward to have an iPad version :)

Just realised that we never responded to this post, sorry!
Unfortunately, iOS has very little in common with OSX. While OSX is a reasonably open UNIX variant, iOS is a very closed system and putting a full APL system on it is impossible, simply because it would violate Apple policies, as it would provide people with a mechanism for developing and distributing software without Apple getting a share of the revenue and having the ability to reject your application because they don't like it.
We could develop some kind of cut-down math workbench for iOS, and we may well do this at some point, but probably getting TryAPL to work well on tablets will give more bang for the buck in the short term.
An Android version is on our ToDo list; we don't have a release date - but this is something that we will work actively on in 2016.

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking however maybe porting of the RIDE only will be sufficient enough, for those who have bought an interpreter already?
Probably with some sort of secure tunneling over RIDE protocol (like ssh) so do not expose access to outsiders.

Porting the RIDE to iOS is definitely do-able. Even if we don't make a specific iOS version, the plan is to make a zero-footprint RIDE which runs in the browser with nothing installed locally, and that will run "everywhere".
