Dyalog '23 will take place at Konventum (known as LO-skolen until 2008), a modern conference centre that has been awarded 4 stars for its conference facilities at HORESTA. Konventum is located in the western outskirts of Elsinore (Helsingør), just 2km from the city's centre. Copenhagen, Denmark's capital city, is an hour's train journey away, as is Copenhagen International Airport, the busiest airport of the Nordic countries.
In 2010, Konventum became Denmark's most recently-built listed building on account of its significant cultural and historical value and unique architecture. The hotel houses Denmark's largest private art collection
with over 1,200 works of modern art from the 1950s to the present day, all of which can be enjoyed without the restrictions of glass cases and museum attendants.
All delegates and guests can make full use of the hotel's fully equipped gym, sauna, skittles alley, pool/billiards tables, private golf course and library.
In the hotel's reception you can get information on the attractions in the surrounding area. Rent one of Konventum's bikes or walk to Helsingør's charming town centre, where you will find plenty of cafés and restaurants within 2 km.
Thinking about staying on for a few days after the user meeting? If so, there's a lot on offer. Here's just a small selection…
Experience UNESCO world heritage, explore the picturesque town and enjoy the Danish Riviera by visiting the charming town centre of Helsingør. At the sea front you will be spoiled with cultural choice while the old pedestrian streets offers numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. Visit Kronborg Castle (home of Shakespeare's Hamlet), explore the maritime museum
(under water in the old docks and designed by world famous architect Bjarke Ingels) and view Han The Little Merman
(seen as the brother of Edvard Eriksen's world-famous Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen).
Expand your horizon and visit another Scandinavian country while in Denmark – it's only a 20 minute ferry trip from Helsingør to Helsingborg in Sweden. Helsingborg is a city that offers excellent shopping and dining but don't forget to take your passport.
Hornbæk is known as a charming little fisherman's village with a yacht harbour and lovely coastal walks. The beach is referred to as the Hollywood Beach since all the rich and famous come here to be seen during Summer. The Beach Polo World Cup is an annual event in Hornbæk.
Gilleleje has an unbroken coastline and a rich fishing tradition; this tradition has resulted in a lovely fishermans' harbour with good local fish restaurants. Fyrhistorisk Museum på Nakkehoved
is the International Lighthouse Museum, and small groups can arrange tours.
If the Konventum hasn't managed to sate your appetite for modern art, visit the Louisiana museum of modern art – this also provides a panoramic view of Sweden across the Sound.
