Seminar and workshops in USA

In April this year, Dyalog had the pleasure of hosting two Seminars and Tuning Workshops in Vienna, Virginia and Jersey City, New Jersey.

The workshops was run by Dyalog's CTO, Morten Kromberg, and MD Gitte Christensen and covered the topics:

  • Dyalog Roadmap and Review of features in 13.2 versus 12.1
  • Tuning Workshop
  • Questions/Answers

Both seminars were very well attended and in both cases the day was kicked off, with a presentation by Gitte Christensen who gave an introduction to Dyalog and the Business of APL. At the Virginia seminar in particular, this gave rise to some animated discussions.

At the Virginia seminar the majority of the attendees were subject matter experts who are either already developing, or considering developing, applications for resale to clients. The domain experts included Statisticians, an Architect and a software programmer working on a DNA application. They were particularly interested in developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and accessing external databases, as well as learning about converting from other APL systems.

The seminar in New Jersey was held in Jersey City. Most of the attendees were from the financial services industry. Several were long time clients of Dyalog. However, some new young APLers were also in attendance and learning the ropes. They were all interested in learning about the latest improvements and plans for the future. As one of the feedback forms stated: "The topics covered and the time allocated were just right and I especially liked the customization of the topics as per audience demand."

If you are interested in hosting a seminar & tuning workshop later in the year in the US, please contact Pat Buteux.
