Dyalog '07 – a lingering taste of the USA

Dyalog '07 took place September 30th - October 3rd 2007 at Wyndham Princeton Forrestal Hotel and Conference Center in New Jersey USA.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the presenters and all the delegates who attended. You all helped to make this conference a positive and successful event.

We had so many delegates, that we are pleased to announce that we have decided to venture across "the pond" again in 2009. More details nearer the time.

The plenary sessions were packed despite the fact we ran with dual streams.

This year's Viking challenge was a bit out of the ordinary (but then again – they usually are). Everyone ended up with a handmade African conga – and it took less than 1 minute to get everyone drumming away in the "Drum Cafι". This challenge not only demonstrated that APLers are very musical – they are also extremely good at working together in creating a joint venture. After less than an hour we all ended up in a "jamming session" where everyone worked together in creating fabulous beats.

Apropos – don't miss the article on Conga – the new mechanism for developing client and server components which communicate with other web or network components.

And the inspiration for the name? Yes – you guessed it.
