The 6th Annual APL Software Programming Contest is in full flow

...there is still time to register and take up the challenge!

We are truly excited to report that as of 9th July we had an impressive 710 registrations for this year's programming challenge! It is now the 6th consecutive year that Dyalog Ltd – together with sponsors APL Italiana, Fiserv and SimCorp – is running the annual International APL software programming contest.

The contest invites students worldwide to put their programming and problem-solving skills to the test by using any APL system to develop solutions to ten questions and solve a series of problems. The contest has been developed specifically for people who love a challenge and learning new things for fun. But with the added bonus of 43 cash prizes totalling $8,500 USD (including a grand prize of $2,500 USD and a trip to Eastbourne in the U.K. to attend the annual Dyalog Ltd user meeting in September 2014) there is an extra incentive to get involved.

The deadline for submissions is 8 August 2014 with the winner being announced ten days later. For the rules, eligibility criteria and to register for the competition, go to the website page.

We are also encouraging non-student programmers to enter the contest. The winner of the non-student part of the competition will receive free attendance (including accommodation and meals) at the Dyalog '14 user meeting in Eastbourne. The winner will, however, have to pay for their travel to the user meeting.
